As a very fair blonde, skincare is a challenge I face. I tend to have a sensitive skin that can change with the food, the place, the seasons or even the weather. Finding the right care and makeup are really tough and speaking of makeup, as a model, I am subjected to it all the time – thick layers of it on shoots, then sometimes it’s removed (harshly) by one makeup artist only for another makeup artist to ‘repaint’ me the very same day.
Luckily, there’s one famous facialist in London who knows the issues that we all face with our complexions: Lisa Franklin.
When I first entered her welcoming studio in central London, I immediately felt at home. The design is lovely and the staff is very friendly. We were off to a good start!
Lisa herself is a wonderful lady, who treats you like an old friend and knows her job so well! She gives a highly personalised treatment to each client depending on their needs and really takes the time to listen to your requirements and wishes.
She closely analyses your skin to give you the perfect treatment. Her goal is that her clients go out of her institute looking and feeling far better than before – happy and satisfied. In my case, it was a huge success!
After examining my skin and asking me a bunch of questions about my lifestyle, she provided me with an oxygen cleansing treatment and advised me to do it once a month. This began with her cleansing my face, then “steaming” it, to remove all the dirt off my face. She then applied several different kinds of creams (Lisa is a big believer in the power of natural ingredients, by the way) and ended by oxygenating my skin with a little vacuum like machine. It felt a bit cold and blowy, but not unpleasant at all.
After this one session, I could already see the difference in my complexion. My face was absolutely glowing and looked oh-so fresh. I felt clean and soft, and had absolutely zero redness – which is unusual, as this usually happens to me after such treatments.
Additionally, Lisa gave me some great advice to follow and some samples of her natural skincare range to use at home. I was thrilled to hear she is launching a makeup line, too. I tried a sample of her foundation, and it was honestly amazing – you only need a little of it to cover your blemishes and imperfections, plus it is fully organic so good for your health, too. I can’t wait to try more products she comes up with!
I don’t usually do such things, but I am considering coming to London regularly just to see this facialist. And I wouldn’t be the only one – she has a long list of celebrity clients (which are rumoured to include Kylie Minogue, Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna) and I will for sure let you know when she launches that make-up line…
